Mushroom Gyros souvlaki

For this vegan version of the gyros souvlaki we used a cooking KIT from Dirfis Mushrooms from the island of Euboea, which contained a ready seasoning mix that really gave a great taste of gyros to the mushrooms.

Here, Chef Kyriakos has given us his recipe for a seasoning mix, which anyone can try at home for this unconventional souvlaki.

Ingredients

500g Pleurotus (oyster) mushrooms

50ml Olive oil

½ Teaspoon paprika powder

½ Teaspoon beef curry powder

½ Teaspoon salt

A touch of grated ginger 

A touch of pepper

A touch of mustard powder

Pita bread

Method

Cut the mushrooms long and place them in a bowl.

Mix the rest of the ingredients and blend them well with the mushrooms.

Put a pan on the heat and let it heat up well.

Put the mushrooms in the pan and let them wither well.Serve in pitta bread adding tomato, tzatziki, onions and anything you like.
